Norfolk hums with great theatre! This March, see shows that reflect Norfolk’s diverse community and spirited audiences in venues large and small, showcasing our city’s rich cultural heritage and the performing arts organizations who enliven the scene here. It’s all happening at Norfolk Theatre Festival on Wednesday, March 4th!
On Wednesday, Norfolk Theatre Festival will present The Legend of Georgia McBride at Wells Theatre. The Legend of Georgia McBride introduces us to Casey, a man who is down on his luck. Recently fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator, he scrambles to pay his rent. To top it off, his wife just announced she is pregnant. When a new drag show replaces his act, Casey trades in his jumpsuit for a dress and finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business—and himself. This music-filled comedy explores the art of finding your true voice, with loads of laughs and dance numbers along the way.
Plan your perfect Norfolk Theatre Festival experience to include unforgettable shows and featuring home-grown talent as well as new and established artists in some of the most beautiful and historic venues in the city. You’ll find great deals on great meals at Norfolk’s many restaurants and breweries and hotel choices that make an immersive theatre weekend elegantly comfortable. For a complete guide, visit the festival’s official website at www.nfktheatre.com.
